Brands Hatch GP with Bemsee

23/7/2019

Really had a strange weekend. Rode in two classes. Junior Supersport and Team Green on Bemsee hire bike. Struggled a little in the Junior Supersport qualifying 4th but finishing mid field each time with a lot of the BSB regulars turning up. In the Team Green Junior series I qualified second narrowly missing out on pole. First Race was very close and enjoyed fighting with Ash Barnes. Lost out on 1st place by 0.060 of a second crossing the line side by side. Second race was another close race and side by side with out of the penultimate corner on the last lap the bike unfortunately blew a fuse. Missing out on my first win by won corner was a bit of a gutter. Third race was on Sunday and the bad luck continued with another DNF as a result of the bike issues still not quite sorted. This put me dead last on the grid of 30+ riders for the last race and my last chance of the weekend to get a win. On the first lap I overtook 16 riders and continued to take more riders throughout the shortened 6 lap race. On the 4th lap I was about 2 seconds behind the leading group of three when there was a bit of confusion and the leaders slowed down. I continued at full pace and went on to take the win. Really grateful for all the hard work at weekend to resolve these bike issues from Mark Dent and all the effort put into me to get to this point. Snetterton next week which I am looking forward to a lot. Many Thanks to the guys at freestyle for all the help.

FREESTYLE AND JLM RACING BSB KNOCKHILL

A tough weekend in Scotland, while the rest of the country bathed in sunshine and heat it pored hard on Saturday afternoon at Knockhill. All action was stopped for around two hours due to standing water on the track, this put the timetable out for the day and as a result the 2nd Junior Supersport race was postponed all together and will be added to another round later in the year.
Saturday's first race saw a steady ride from Jamie as he settled in to ride the 2019 Yamaha YZF R3 for the first time in race conditions at Knockhill. Starting in 31st place on the grid, Jamie came in 26th overall and the 2nd place Yamaha in the field. The race was cut short after a race incident brought out the red flags.
Saturdays race two was completely abandoned due to the heavy rain.
Sunday got underway early to make up for time lost on Saturday.
The two Sunday races where a challenge due to technical issues, one of those being clearance on the Yamaha R3 exhaust system. This was continually grinding out on the raise curbs that Knockhill has. So ongoing adjustments where made through out the day.
The weekend finished with a lot of bike setup done and lots learnt. Now ready for Snetterton later this month and hopefully will be chasing down some of these Kawasaki's that are currently dominating the class.

Had a solid weekend with the Thundersport Superteens at Mallory Park. 3x 5ths and one 9th. In the races where I finished 5th I was in 3rd position for a while and could quite convert it to a podium. Fast pace all weekend and ended up with being about a second off lap record. The Yamaha R3 was on

600 STOCK RACE REPORT

BSB Brands Race report
As the Stock 600 race started (34th on the grid) so did the rain, the conditions where about as wet as you can get, lots of spray and poor visibility. Jamie stayed on though and brought the 600 in to finish in 21st place.
An amazing result for first time out on a bike of this size, in wet conditions on what is a standard road bike with a race fairing fitted.

Cadwell First Time on the 2019 R3

It was a really interesting weekend getting to learn the new Freestyle Yamaha YZF R3 and we were at the sharp end straight away in wet and dry conditions which is very positive.
We came away with two DNF's and two 6ths which was slightly disappointing but that's racing sometimes.
